"Just
Laray" - History
The
Just Laray was built in 1984 at Fremantle and operated in the
Cray fish industry until 1991 when it was purchased by the Innisfail
Coast Guard. It was licensed to carry 98 pots.
The vessel
was transported to Innisfail by road and arrived here in September
1991.
New radio
gear was fitted and the radar was replaced in May 1992.
The colour sounder was replaced in July 1992.
In 1997
the original Volvo 120bB was replaced by a factory rebuilt 121C
Volvo. It has since run under 900 hours. At the same time the
twin disk gearbox underwent extensive repairs.
The vessel
was brought into Queensland Survey, Class 2C in 1997 and is
licensed to carry 14 persons.
The auto
pilot sensor was replaced in1999. A MUIR electric anchor winch
was fitted in 1999. In 2001 the aft deck was replaced as was
the hydraulic steering ram.
