TO FUND THE ACQUISITION OF THE NEW VESSEL

A grant of $50,000 has already been received. |

have applied to both the Queensland Community Gaming Benefit
Fund and to the Reef Hotel Casino Community Benefit Fund
for a total of $50,000. |

A
number of corporations, such as the industrial corporations,
breweries and others with reputation for helping out as
part of their community involvement activities will be approached
for assistance. It is hoped to raise $60,000 from this area. |

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
OF GIFTS
Only simple
acknowledgments can escape the impact of GST. Transactions will
have to have the appearance of being conducted at arm length.
The Flotilla
proposes to offer to all donors of $1000 or more, an appropriate
acknowledgment.
Refer to
the Sponsorship Packages for the
way in which the Flotilla will ensure, within the GST legislation,
that all significant donations will be appropriately acknowledged.
It is the
intention of the Flotilla to recognise the MAJOR DONORS by the
presentation of a special plaque and bestowing of naming rights
for the vessel. It is not possible to enter into an agreement
for this purpose until the funding campaign is complete.
PROMOTION OF THE
FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN
The involvement
of the media, particularly TV will assist in raising awareness
of the fund raising appeal in the areas adjacent to the Innisfail
district from where a number of boat users originate due to
the proximity of the Tablelands area to Mourilyan Harbour.
Initial
discussions have taken place with representatives of Radio 4KZ
and the Innisfail Advocate. There is a willingness to assist
in the promotion of the appeal.
The Flotilla
will have the task of preparing draft material which the Media
will use.
